We answer some of the most frequently asked questions regarding the choice and use of men's shampoo, in order to resolve any doubts you may have and guide you in choosing the most suitable shampoo for you.

Is there a difference between men's and women's shampoo?
Let's start from a fundamental point: there is a difference between men's shampoo and women's shampoo, very slight, but it exists. Hair structure does not differ significantly between men and women; it consists of keratin in both cases. It is more the hormonal factors that determine the difference between the two genders. These very factors account for the differences between male and female products, among which we undoubtedly find the fragrance, and the chemical composition itself differs due to some minor factors that are precisely those that influence hormones.
How do you choose a shampoo?
Shampoo must gently cleanse the hair while respecting its structure. For this reason, the choice of shampoo must be made consciously. There are 3 factors that influence the choice of shampoo: the product's chemical composition, pH, and hair type. First of all, it is best if the label of a shampoo does not contain the names of very aggressive surfactants, parabens, and preservatives that could cause damage to the scalp due to their high level of harshness. pH also plays a fundamental role; hair is acidic by nature with a pH of 3.67, and for this reason, in most cases, the pH of the shampoo does not exceed 5.5, an ideal parameter compatible with the scalp that does not irritate or dehydrate the hair. In the case of treated or colored hair, however, a shampoo with a neutral pH is preferable. The final factor underlying the choice of shampoo is the type of hair, and this depends on you and how attentive you are to what your hair needs. If you have dry hair, choose a nourishing shampoo; if you have oily hair, a purifying shampoo; if you have fine hair, a strengthening one; if you have normal hair that does not exhibit any particular needs, opt for a frequent-use shampoo so you don't run the risk of going wrong.
How do you wash your hair correctly?
It might seem like a trivial question since we have been washing our hair since we were little, but in reality, often correcting washing habits can cause major changes. First, water temperature: it must not be too hot, otherwise it could cause dehydration of the hair shaft, leading to frizz. Lukewarm water is ideal because it promotes the opening of the cuticles, optimizing the cleansing action of the shampoo. You can finish the wash with a blast of cold water, thereby causing the cuticles to close and keeping the hair hydrated and shiny.

Regarding the amount of shampoo, the right answer is to opt for a happy medium. Too little shampoo does not guarantee a cleansing action, while too much shampoo risks leaving residue on the hair, irritating it. The ideal amount of shampoo is about a teaspoon; we are talking about roughly 12 grams if you wash your hair very often.
A good habit is then to dilute the shampoo in the palm of your hand with a little water before proceeding to lather your hair, focusing on the scalp by massaging it with your fingertips and dedicating a few minutes to every part of the head.
Regarding washing frequency, we have already answered this question, but in general, we could say that 3 times a week is the recommended washing frequency to ensure the elimination of dead cells, impurities, and smog particles.
