Our barbers tell you about and explain the beard and hair looks that will be the protagonists of autumn 2022.
As always, we have decided to collect the grooming looks that we predict will become popular during autumn 2022, so if you feel like getting a trim or changing your look, we can help by giving you some ideas to take inspiration from.
Let's start with haircuts.
SHORT HAIR LOOK: Buzz Cut
The Buzz Cut reconfirms itself as a major trend for the Autumn Winter 2022-23 seasons as well. An extremely short and very precise cut that doesn't sacrifice creativity, however. The one seen on the runways remains very understated with lengths that stay uniform all over the head, but the Buzz Cut can always be customized according to your tastes.
The cut is done with clippers: you can ask your barber to keep the same length all over the head or to create side fades or skin shaves, playing with light and shadow or defining the cut with sharp lines. The Buzz Cut requires a frequent appointment with the barber, but no work at home; it is also ideal for those with fine hair who are looking for volume.
MEDIUM HAIR LOOK: Faded Caesar Cut
The Caesar Cut takes its name from the well-known Roman emperor and its history goes back hundreds of years: it is a haircut characterized mainly by a short fringe. It is said that Caesar chose this haircut to mask his premature baldness; it is in fact a style that is particularly suited to men who suffer from baldness or who are simply looking for a short, trendy, and low-maintenance cut.

In autumn 2022, the trend will be to show off the faded Caesar cut, a very natural look that suits any occasion, style, and hair type (straight, wavy, or curly). If you too want to opt for the Caesar cut, first turn to your trusted barber; given the popularity of this cut, many barbers will know how to replicate it. The length on the top of the head can range from 2 to 5 cm. To create the faded effect, the hair on the back and sides must then be cut slightly shorter than the top, fading with scissors or a razor. The Caesar cut is also very popular because it requires little styling effort; you will only need a small amount of wax or styling cream. Rub the product between your fingertips to warm it up, then work it evenly through slightly damp or dry hair with a comb or brush from roots to tips, moving towards the forehead.
LONG HAIR: Man Bob
Another look seen on the runways for the Autumn Winter 2022-23 season is the Man Bob, an ageless and genderless bob cut suitable for all those men with medium/long hair. The cut should be created based on the hair type (straight, wavy, or curly). In the straight version, styling can be done with a glossy wax and combed back for a more elegant look, or left natural with a middle part (particularly suitable for square or round faces and less so for very elongated or triangular ones). In the second case, make sure your hair is always clean and comb it several times during the day to keep it neat. In its wavy or curly version, the Man Bob will have a wilder and more natural effect. To keep the hair looking neat, however, very defined curls should be thinned out a bit (but not too much!) and wavy hair should be layered, but never combed with a specific part, precisely to maintain the messy effect.

As for the beard, the looks are also in line with those of previous seasons, except in the case of the short beard, where we see a novelty, or rather, a return to the past.
SHORT BEARD: Van Dyke
The Van Dyke beard style takes its name from the Flemish painter and contributes to conveying a strong image, focusing on originality. Precisely because of its uniqueness, this beard style has proven to be the new trend for the Autumn Winter 2022-23 season, suitable for all those men looking for a short and fashionable beard trim. The Van Dyke beard is achieved by letting the beard grow for at least 2 weeks and then cleaning everything up except for the chin and mustache, which can also be styled into a handlebar. When creating this beard style, during the growth phase, don't forget to use a beard brush to untangle the knots that inevitably form between the hairs and clean the entire beard. The beard brush massages the skin with a scrub effect that helps remove dead skin, preventing ingrown hairs from forming in the subsequent shaving phase.

MEDIUM BEARD: Corporate Beard
Years ago, growing a beard while working in a corporate environment was a real challenge. Fortunately, corporate culture has evolved and beards have become increasingly accepted. The corporate beard, also known as the business beard, is reconfirmed as a trend for the Autumn Winter 2022-23 season as well. This style, perhaps one of the simplest and most widespread, is exactly what it sounds like: a medium-length beard that is evenly trimmed and well-groomed, characterized by a thick coat of hair that is obtained after about three weeks without shaving. The medium-length beard is left on most of the cheeks and in the mustache area and is particularly suitable for men with oval or square faces. A professional beard style that works well in any work environment and can give any man a refined look. To keep the corporate beard always well-groomed, remember to wash it every 2-3 days with a specific beard shampoo, which thanks to its high and delicate cleansing action nourishes and cleanses while respecting the pH of the beard (which is different from that of the hair).
LONG BEARD: Hipster Beard
The “hipster beard” or commonly called full beard is another style that we will see often in Autumn Winter 2022-23, halfway between a groomed and an unkempt beard, the long beard is also always useful for protecting the face from low temperatures in the coldest months of the year. The preparation, however, must be started in the summer; the hipster beard, in fact, must be left to grow for at least two months, the cheek lines can be defined, and it must be trimmed regularly at the sides in order to avoid a puffy and messy look.
To avoid the frizz effect and keep the hair healthy, don't forget hydration, with an oil (such as Argan oil) that strengthens and makes the beard shinier, or with a beard balm that penetrates deeply without being greasy or heavy.
