Three tips to protect your beard from the cold

Winter is just around the corner, and the cold has arrived: perhaps you are already used to taking care of your skin, but have you ever thought that your beard needs protection too?

In this article, we want to reveal three simple professional tips for protecting your beard from the cold, keeping it perfect even in the harshest months of the year.

  1. Your beard deserves a specific shampoo

A common mistake is using the same shampoo for your hair and your beard. Since these are two very different areas in terms of hair characteristics and the underlying skin, two different types of shampoo are needed, specifically designed for the needs of each.

This winter, remember to wash your beard often while always using a beard-specific shampoo: it will prevent it from drying out too much, while also cleansing the underlying skin. In fact, using a specific beard shampoo preserves and cleanses the skin of the face as well.

  1. Hydrate it without temperature shocks

When the cold is harsh, many are tempted to use boiling water to wash up. Always remember that excessive heat does not benefit your beard! Prefer lukewarm water and set the hairdryer to an intermediate temperature. Furthermore, never leave it damp, but make sure to dry it well! Once dry, always remember to keep it hydrated by using a leave-in beard conditioner. This will act not only on the beard but also on the facial skin, hydrating it and preventing chapping.

  1. Protect it all day from pollution
The problem of facial and beard hydration during particularly cold times of the year is very recurrent. During the day, the beard tends to dehydrate much more easily. Argan oil, with Keratin amino acids, in addition to nourishing and taming the hair, creates a protective film between the beard and the outside, protecting it not only from the winter weather but also from pollution. Additionally, essential oils help the skin retain heat longer.
