Following our guide on how to replicate the haircuts of the Birmingham gang, our barbers have studied and created a guide on how to take care of your beard and achieve an effect similar to that of the Peaky Blinders.
HOW TO LOOK LIKE THOMAS SHELBY
Thomas Shelby always sports a very well-groomed, perfectly shaven face. Here is a short guide on how to achieve a perfect shave, structured into 5 fundamental steps: first, before proceeding with the shave, trim your beard; after that, wash your face with warm water, perhaps applying a pre-shave oil and massaging it in; then apply a shaving foam or shaving cream that prepares the skin for shaving; when you start the actual shave, be careful not to shave against the grain as you could irritate your skin; the perfect way to finish the shave, after rinsing your face with cold water, is a good soothing aftershave balm that hydrates the skin and makes it more elastic without leaving it greasy.

HOW TO LOOK LIKE LIKE ARTHUR SHELBY
Arthur, on the other hand, prefers a full Chevron-style mustache over a completely shaven face. These are classic, full, and voluminous mustaches that are clean and easy to achieve. The characteristics of these mustaches are that they must exceed the corners of the mouth in width, be slightly arched downwards to form an inverted 'V', partially cover the upper lip, and the ends must be trimmed on the sides so as not to exceed 1.5 cm beyond the corners of the mouth. We already explained how to create and maintain them in another one of our articles.
Once you have achieved a nice mustache, however, it is also necessary to take care of it by washing it two or three times a week with a specific beard and mustache shampoo and combing it with a suitable comb, using a styling paste to keep it tidier. The length of the mustache can be adjusted using specific scissors perfect for cutting any excess hair and refining the edges. There is a perfect kit with everything you need to take care of it in the best way. Barberino’s barbers recommend keeping your mustache hydrated and nourished because it is precisely these steps, such as the use of Argan oil, that make a mustache look good.

HOW TO STYLE YOUR BEARD LIKE ALFIE SOLOMONS
Regarding Alfie Solomons, there isn't much to say because it is definitely his beard that catches the attention. It is a hipster or "lumberjack" beard, very long and full, which he often sports in a not very well-groomed or combed way. If you already have a very long beard, you can get a beard similar to Alfie Solomons' by asking your barber for help; first, ensure you ask them not to cut it too short, and then ask them to help you determine where the shaving line on your neck should start, whether around the jawline or in the neck area. After achieving the right shape, you can continue to take care of your beard on your own by managing its growth, trimming it with specific scissors, taking care not to trim it too much while ensuring you remove all stray hairs on the cheeks. With a razor and shaving foam, you can also further define the edges.
To help you, here is a quick refresher on how to take care of your beard perfectly: first of all, it takes patience to let it grow; before you start trimming it, it is best to wait until it reaches 2 cm. Secondly, try to avoid touching it a lot during the day; the beard should not be washed every day, otherwise, the hairs will become dry and brittle. Furthermore, when you do decide to wash it, it is important to use a specific product; beard shampoo, which has a different pH than hair shampoo, will clean it while preventing the buildup of bacteria that could cause infections and irritation. Finally, to keep the beard nourished and give it the final look like Alfie's, a good hydrating beard balm that is non-greasy and easily absorbed, penetrating deeply into the skin without needing to be rinsed off, is essential.
